Holistic Nutrition Principles

March 2014 marks my tenth anniversary as a holistic nutrition consultant in private practice.  My years of clinical experience have confirmed five nutrition principles that are essential for optimal health.     

 Quality food is the foundation of good health

When my clients move to higher quality foods they always experience improved health.

 There is no one diet that is right for everyone

Some books claim that one way of eating is best for everyone, but this is not supported by human history or by the latest nutrition research.  When my clients eat the diet suited to their needs they report feeling better than they have in years.

 Nagging health issues should not be ignored

I find that people put up with issues such as acid reflux, bowel irregularity, abdominal bloating, headaches, skin rashes, and unexplained fatigue.  These are all symptoms of eating either a poor quality foods or the wrong diet for individual needs. The right diet changes almost always alleviate these concerns.

 Symptom relief is not the answer

The societal attitude for many health issues is to take medications that provide symptom relief (e.g. antacids for acid reflux). As a result, the root causes of health concerns can go undetected. This represents a threat to health.

 Health issues must be addressed in holistic ways

Diet is one important factor in good health.  My assessment and healing protocols also take into account my clients’ physical and emotional environment.  Many clients have reported dramatic health benefits.   

I know how beneficial these principles are when put into practice.
